May God have mercy on us.

And may He kick us in the pants to wake us up from this complacent stupor.RobKPhDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16220380405943891911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-62675595723334158422007-09-11T20:13:00.000-07:002007-09-11T20:13:00.000-07:00Lauralou,The "scandal" to which I was referring is...Lauralou,

The "scandal" to which I was referring is the sexual abuse by some Catholic priests that has garnered no end of sensationalistic coverage in the mainstream media. You may have seen headlines about the most recent settlements in the L.A. Diocese and San Diego Diocese where cases were settled out of court to pay the victims of the abuse millions and millions of dollars.ann nonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06426622861196955113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-63727150959149822752007-09-11T18:11:00.000-07:002007-09-11T18:11:00.000-07:00What is the scandal? What is the scandal?Laura Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01908987006202428582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-31419342368040530592007-09-11T16:29:00.000-07:002007-09-11T16:29:00.000-07:00Anon. #4.Whew! I thought she was already in L.A. I suspected she and Sr. Mary Fiacre and Sr. St. Aloysius were preparing for some more roomies. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hopefully, when I post this, it won't be under "anonymous" as I have tried to use a real "fake" name.ann nonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06426622861196955113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-6454967817858716692007-09-11T11:54:00.000-07:002007-09-11T11:54:00.000-07:00I am so sorry for all of us hurt by the sins of a ...I am so sorry for all of us hurt by the sins of a few. The whole mess is so hard for all Catholics to deal with. It seems the most innocent are the ones hurt the most. Is there any direction being given that will unify all Catholics to get past this? We need to be able to hold our heads up, unashamed to be Catholic. Kicking our faithful out of their home doesn't seem to be the answer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-83986069072290882712007-09-11T10:35:00.000-07:002007-09-11T10:35:00.000-07:00They're selling your convent! Archdiocese is selling a convent which is home to three nuns in Santa Barbara. The article stated the three nuns will have to return to their congregation's house in L.A. I am so sad about this situation and every time I read something about the repercussions of this "scandal" I get angry all over again.

I will pray for the victims of the scandal, the priests and bishops and all those who are being negatively affected by this even though their only "crime" has been being a faithful Catholic.

God bless you. Thank you for your blog. And mostly, thank you for devoting your life to our Lord, Jesus Christ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30512717.post-43769357757321339662007-09-10T12:49:00.000-07:002007-09-10T12:49:00.000-07:00I really think you hit the nail on the head with '...I really think you hit the nail on the head with 'reoccurring character flaws'. We are to become like Jesus, so I have to ask myself where do I fail to act like Him? These are the flaws, the imperfections, I have to work on my whole lifetime. I frankly think it gets easier as I get older.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
